When I’m in the Holy Land during Lent, I sometimes hear the term “lenting” to describe what we are doing over the next 40 days. “I am lenting from alcohol.” It’s one of those things that’s a bit lost in translation, but I enjoy hearing lent used as a verb.

Pope Benedict, the visitation, and funeral
