Swiss Guards and Rome
Hopefully you enjoyed the ceremony yesterday!
I’m talking, of course, about the 23 new Swiss Guard recruits who were sworn-in. The ceremony takes place each year on May 6th in honor of the Swiss Guard soldiers who lost their lives defending the Vatican during the Sack of Rome in 1527.
Rome, Just Rome
For the first time ever, I’m offering a Rome-only pilgrimage. I’m calling this one Rome, Just Rome.
Dates: October 2nd – 8th, 2023
This will be a small group of fun people and we are doing some really cool things with our week in Rome…
We have tours with Agnes Crawford and Liz Lev.
A food tour with Sophie Minchilli.
A dinner and wine tasting at the legendary Rimessa Roscioli.
We will be opening and turning on the lights of the Vatican Museums — just us, all alone in the Sistine Chapel.
And, of course, daily Mass, lots of amazing meals, and some off the beaten path experiences.
On Monday, May 8th, at 12 PM Eastern / 9 AM Pacific, I will be sending out the sign-up link to paid Subscribers/Patrons. I expect it to sell out quickly, but if any space is left, I’ll open it up to everyone a few days later.
